As the Senior Content Producer, you will research, write, and edit finance-related content, including explainer articles, product comparisons, and news stories. Your work will help consumers navigate complex financial decisions with confidence, whether they're comparing home loans or understanding superannuation. You’ll collaborate closely with SEO, marketing, research, and product data teams to ensure content meets both user needs and business goals, while also driving traffic and engagement across Canstar’s platforms.
You will also manage content in our content management system (CMS), monitor article performance, and use data insights to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, you'll explore AI tools to enhance content creation processes and push forward efficiency within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and write finance-related content, including explainer articles, product comparison pages, and news stories
Edit and fact-check content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to Canstar’s editorial standards
Collaborate with internal teams to pitch and develop content ideas based on consumer and industry trends
Optimise content for SEO to maximise traffic and user engagement
Upload, format, and manage content in the CMS, ensuring articles meet search and performance goals
Monitor content performance using analytics tools, making data-driven recommendations for updates
Integrate monetisation opportunities into content while maintaining a user-first approach
Support the Consumer Editor and work closely with the wider editorial team to meet company and user expectations
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
5+ years of experience in a content, journalism, or editorial role, with a preference for experience in finance or related industries
A passion for consumer finance, real estate, business, or economics journalism
Strong understanding of, or interest in, SEO best practices
Experience working with content management systems (ideally WordPress)
Ability to create high-quality content within deadlines, with a good eye for data visualisation and engaging imagery
Comfort with numerical and financial concepts, and a keen ability to simplify complex topics
An entrepreneurial mindset: energetic, proactive, hands-on, and ambitious
