Someone who has experience of handling all categories, Home furnishing fabric, Bed spreads, Blankets, Pillows and pillow cover, Cushion and cushion covers, Carpets and rugs, is an ideal candidate

Responsibilities:

Conception and design of new home textile products as per Founder’s input.
Product development from initial concept through sketch, computer rendering, sample review, revisions to sample approval.
Staying abreast of current home textile industry trends and forecasts.
Research and knowledge of materials about selecting appropriate existing or new manufacturers.
Graphic design / textile design / packaging design for home goods products.
Forecast colors and design trends for future seasons and put together collection mood boards.
To conceptualize and create Soft Home Furnishing products like, Decorative Cushions, Table Linen, Curtains, Throws, etc. using Surface Ornamentation, Fabric Manipulation, Embroidery (Manual and Computer), Printing and other techniques.
Delegate and supervise junior team members for making samples and CADS.
Analyze the mood boards/current trends to derive fabrics, motifs and colors that should be used
Understand requirements from production team to absorb any finer points
Ensure that design is compatible to the fabrics that are likely to be used as per the budget and production ability
Check the designs drafted by the team and provide corrections to ensure that the designs are drafted with precision as per all above information
Prepare, Revise, & Issue the CADs for sampling
Prepare and proofread the artwork for screen printing as per approved CADs
Ensure that the prints are approved
Technical Support

Explain the design to production and/or merchandising team and solve their technical queries from time to time
Ensure that designs are modified and revised to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
Coordinate with and consult with production and project leads to resolve design or other problems.
Knowledge & Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

At least 3+ years of textile design experience
Must know how to hand sketch illustrations
Familiarity with Surface Designing is a plus
Demonstrates creative ability
Must have experience with the Adobe CC Suite (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator & Bridge)
Knowledge of print development techniques and printing technology currently used throughout the industry. Must be able to translate these to various types of textiles.
Must have strong working knowledge of knit and woven textiles as they pertain to the textile design process.
Must be adept with patterns and textures
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Ability to adhere to tight deadlines.
Ability to research and apply market/trend information
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to improve skill set by listening and responding to constructive critique.
