Job description
We are delighted to be working with one of the UK's fastest growing wearable safety technology businesses to hire a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer. You'll be a key member of the Hardware Engineering team, and will be responsible for developing a robust and reliable codebase for our portfolio of connected devices. As part of the Embedded team, you’ll be required to support Electronics Engineers, Product Managers and Sales in bringing our exciting concepts to life. You’ll prototype new features to release to help us deliver life-saving products to clients. What experience will you have? 5+ years’ experience in an embedded software development environment You’re proficient in C/C++ and the use of CMake, preferably in support of deployment of IoT devices You have experience with communication protocols, particularly cellular protocols as well as AT and PPP, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and MQTT You have knowledge GNSS and positioning techniques, particularly RTK You understand CI/CD practices and pipelines, and have extensive knowledge of software testing You have experience deploying automated-test-equipment for electronics and associated test firmware and software You’re well versed in the Agile methodology in an Embedded context and associated software tools, e.g. Jira, Git You have knowledge of electronics, with hardware experience and awareness of hardware acceptance testing a bonus You have developed code with safety integrity in mind and contributed to risk management, FMEA or other reliability-related activities You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of typical embedded software documentation practices You’ve taken products from concept through to volume production You’re excited to get stuck in, work well under pressure, and wear multiple hats For an informal conversation please contact Neil Cox on 07426 4+133+ or neil@riseaboveconsulting.co.uk
