Our finance team is looking for a temporary Senior Finance Officer to directly support the delivery of high-level financial business support functions for the Energy Division.

The role would commence as soon as possible through to March 2025 with a possibility of an extension. The role allows for flexible working options and has competitive salary and benefits and generous leave entitlements.

To thrive in this role, you will have high level skills in using SAP and have high/intermediate skills in Excel. Possession of a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Accounting or similar and/or a membership of the CAANZ, CPA Australia or similar professional body and/or significant work experience in a similar role would be an advantage.

Role Responsibilities

Provide support in relation to high quality financial management analysis and reporting to stakeholders, including the preparation of financial reports, reconciliations, specific purpose reports, budget submissions, briefing notes, presentations, documents and correspondence on a range of complex financial management and budgeting issues, including variance analysis.
Provide support in relation to the annual budget build and review process including the management of operating, limited life, capital and FTE allocations.
Provide high level advice on financial accounting policies and procedures to ensure financial accountability and compliance and provide support / training on departmental systems and processes.
Provide operational support in relation to financial accounting activities including vendors/customers, purchase orders, accounts payable and receivables, corporate cards, journals, assets and reporting.
Provide input from a divisional perspective on financial management compliance with respect to the Financial Accountability Act, Financial Performance Standard, the Financial Management Framework, other relevant legislation, departmental policies and procedures.
Maintain and develop constructive, collaborative working relationships with stakeholders across the divisions, business units and corporate finance.
Promote collaborative team engagement and sharing of information to ensure the provision of quality advice and delivery of effective services.
Contribute to the divisional capability uplift in financial management by coaching, mentoring and development and delivery of training programs.
