About the Role:

The ACT Office of Water is seeking an experienced and motivated data analyst to join the Water Information Services section. This role will aid in the delivery of the Water Resource Assessment (WRA) project and other research/analytical projects to support water policy development.

As a Senior Hydrological Analyst, you will work closely with the Office of Water team of modellers, analysts, and policy officers to develop solutions to new and emerging water management issues in the ACT and region.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyzing hydrological and climate data, including future climate projections
Developing analyses based on policy needs
Developing and implementing analytical scripts (e.g., R)
Synthesizing and communicating outputs and recommendations to a range of audiences
Designing and undertaking other project development and analytical tasks to support policy around Basin Plan review
Collaborative work practices and project management

Eligibility Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in natural resource management or another relevant discipline
Experience using R; other languages such as Python will also be considered
Experience in hydrological or other environmental modelling
