Senior Litigation Paralegal
Glasgow, 1 day a week in the office
Permanent, full-time
Are you looking to progress your legal career? The Senior Litigation Paralegal will be working within a successful and friendly team with great opportunities to learn and to get involved in court work.
You will be working on the defence of litigated motor cases on behalf of a wide range of Insurance clients. The successful candidate will also be dealing with a mixture personal injury, credit hire and counter fraud files. You will be responsible for your own case load of files and for undertaking individual fee earning tasks on cases for and in support of senior Fee Earner (s).
Key Accountabilities
The work handled by the Senior Litigation Paralegal include, but are not limited to,:
• Running own case load of pre and post-litigation defender motor files
• Adhering to court deadlines and managing files in accordance with court timetables
• Instructing experts
• Instructing and working with Counsel
• Carrying out detailed reviews of medical records
• Liaising with clients/other insurers/third parties
• Liaising with policyholders and witnesses
• Negotiating settlements
• Drafting pleadings/court documents
Essential Skills and Attributes:
• Experience in Litigation and Insurance
• Ideally experience in at least one of the following areas: Credit hire, personal injury and counter fraud files
• Experience of drafting court documents and understanding of processes
• An ability to organise and prioritise tasks using initiative
• Calm under pressure with the ability to re-prioritise and delegate effectively when required
• An ability to analyse evidence
• Good team worker with the flexibility to do what is required to get a result and ensure client service levels are met
