Food manufacturing company is seeking a seasoned, hands-on Senior Manager of Operations to lead and optimize all aspects of our facility’s performance and growth. Company is recognized for its high-quality products and operational excellence.

Position Summary

The Manager of Operations will be responsible for the end-to-end leadership and oversight of facility operations with a strong focus on operational functions. This includes production, warehousing, maintenance, logistics, safety, budgeting, and people management. This role demands a strategic leader who can execute with precision while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

Oversee all daily operations ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity across departments.
Lead cross-functional teams across warehousing, maintenance, production, and logistics.
Monitor and drive KPIs to meet production schedules, service level agreements, and operational goals.
Fiscal & Strategic Oversight

Develop and manage departmental budgets; monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effective operations.
Partner with executive leadership especially QA and Finance to identify operational efficiencies, cost reduction opportunities, and capital investment priorities.
Contribute to the development and execution of long-term operational strategies in alignment with company growth goals.
Warehouse & Inventory Management

Oversee inventory controls, raw material flow, finished goods, and logistics operations.
Ensure optimal use of warehouse space and equipment, maintaining industry standards for food safety and traceability.
Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

Supervise maintenance team to ensure timely preventative and corrective maintenance of all equipment and infrastructure.
Establish daily and weekly priorities.
Champion equipment reliability and downtime reduction initiatives.
People Management & Leadership

Lead and mentor a diverse team of supervisors and frontline staff, fostering a high-performance and safety-first culture.
Implement workforce planning, performance management, training, and development programs.
Promote open communication, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Compliance & Safety

Working with QA to Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, CFIA, SQF, etc.).
Maintain high standards in food safety, employee safety, and environmental responsibility.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing operations or a related industry.
Demonstrated experience managing teams across production, warehouse, and maintenance.
Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proven ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with food industry platforms preferred.
