WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
As a member of RBC’s Payroll & Compensation Modernization team, reporting to the Senior Program Director, you will work as part of a fast-paced and high-performing team to enhance performance and outcomes driven by the program.
You will proactively assess opportunities for operational improvements and application of best practices, and build relationships across stakeholder groups to achieve strategic priorities. You will also use your analytical and storytelling capability to proactively seek out opportunities, risks, and issues from the various sources of information you will work with on a day-to-day basis.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Manage, control and communicate overall program financials and project progress to multiple audiences across the program governance.
Key resource in the preparation of funding requests for future program phases.
Support project execution across multiple teams including managing project scope, requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics / assumptions.
Work with multiple Business/Technology stakeholders to ensure that the deliverables achieve the business result that enables value creation. Seek out industry trends and organizational knowledge to understand alternative approaches and/or solutions.
Facilitate and/or manage the gathering of business requirements and alternative options for project issues/risks and decisions.
Work with multiple project stakeholders to ensure effective controls on integrated baseline project plans applying estimated models; documents estimating assumptions, refines plans and manages performance against them.
Anticipate and quantify tactical, operational and strategic risks applying risk-based approach to forecasting.
Manage project communications including status reports to executives, stakeholders, business units, vendors, project team, etc.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
5+ years of Project Management experience in large complex projects or program.
Excellent financial/analytical/program, communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills to establish strong relationships at all levels across the enterprise.
Proven advanced project management knowledge including plan development; scheduling methodology; project metrics gathering, stakeholder and executive reporting; risk and issue assessment and quantification methodologies; cost/benefit analysis and alternatives identification; budgeting, financials and benefits management.
Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work leverage global resources to achieve objectives.
Proven planning, organizational and problem solving skills and ability to deal with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Nice-to-have:
Work experience gained through a varied working career including positions in numerous facets of RBC or another financial institution
Experience designing and implementing risk controls
Proactive, self starter with the ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers
