About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Policy Officer to lead complex policy and project initiatives that will shape the operations of our agency and govern significant reforms. In this role, you will analyse government requirements, identify business needs and provide insightful, well-researched options that enable effective decision-making. Your expertise will be pivotal in preparing high-level advice for the Director, Executive Director and the Childcare and Economic Opportunity Fund Board, ensuring our operations are efficient and effective.

About the Team

The NSW Childcare and Economic Opportunities Fund (the Fund) is designed to provide supply-side interventions into the Early Childhood Education and Care Sector to reduce the barriers to workforce participation by improving the affordability and accessibility of quality early childhood education and care.


The Fund Enablers team develops frameworks, policy documents and guidance for best practice functions and processes for effective delivery of the Fund’s strategy.

About you

Experience in developing and implementing frameworks and processes within tight time frames.
Strong analytical skills and experience conducting business, policy and/or legislative analysis to support decision-making processes.
Can communicate complex governance and policy issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences verbally, visually and in writing.
A demonstrated interest in public policy and working with government.
Ability to manage changing demands.


Your duties will include:

Leading the development of frameworks and guidelines to support best practice functions and processes for effective delivery of the Fund’s objectives
Coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and identify opportunities to improve practice and increase the impact of programs


Key knowledge and experience

Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
