Council is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a background in project development and large-scale project management to oversee the delivery of major Council programs.

Commencing salary at $4,17+.00 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $5,014.80 gross per fortnight + superannuation.

Your new role:

Located within the Council’s Major Projects Division, the position will be responsible for leading and managing identified projects ensuring defined performance, financial, and timeframe requirements are achieved using project management tools, methodologies, and best practice.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Develop detailed cost estimates, work packages, specifications, and schedules for Council projects.
Provide updates, advice and decision-support to Council's internal project committees, the Director, Manager, Project Sponsor(s), and external stakeholders on portfolio performance.
Lead and manage high-performing project teams by guiding, mentoring and coaching to ensure that people have the appropriate expertise and support to deliver against project goals and foster a culture of learning, collaboration and ethical behaviour.
What you will need to succeed:
The successful applicant will have:

Experience in managing projects, planning and economic development and analysis.
Strategic input to the development of capital works projects across the organisation to support an integrated and deliverable program across the full project life cycle.
Substantial experience in contract management associated with large-scale projects including preparation of tender documentation, evaluation of tender submissions, contract award, reporting on project progress to granting authorities and internal stakeholders and management.
Experience in project scope, schedule, cost, quantity, resources, risk and procurement, stakeholder management.
Ability to drive forward implementation of the Council’s relevant Strategic Master Plan with broad-ranging capability to develop and deliver an investment attraction campaign; and
Strong commercial, contract management expertise to effectively and efficiently direct business partner activity to support portfolio performance.
Current General Construction Induction Training Card.
Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
