Job Title: Senior Project Manager (IT)
Job Summary:
Work Arrangement: This role is anticipated to be 100% remote. However, in the event of on-site meetings, the client does not reimburse for travel, relocation, accommodation, commuting, or food expenses.
Position Summary: The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle of complex IT initiatives, from initiation through to successful completion. This role involves coordinating teams, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring that deliverables align with business goals and IT strategy. The Project Manager will work with a variety of stakeholders to ensure projects meet expectations, contribute to organizational architecture, and deliver value.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and compile project charters and business/project plans that outline scope, timeline, and methodology.
Manage projects that document business requirements and deliver IT solutions in alignment with enterprise architecture and strategic goals.
Assist in formulating recommendations for resource needs, risk dependencies, policy impacts, and project methodologies.
Create, package, and present project deliverables to steering committees, internal teams, and stakeholders.
Oversee multiple concurrent IT projects, including governance, resources, and execution.
Ensure effective communication with sponsors and stakeholders, including escalation of risks and progress reporting.
Maintain client satisfaction through consistent engagement, conflict resolution, and value delivery.
Work collaboratively with business and IT leadership to develop comprehensive project plans addressing objectives, scope, risks, timelines, and budgets.
Define clear roles and responsibilities for project participants, coordinating with sponsors and the Project Management Office (PMO).
Track, document, and report project progress against defined goals, mitigating risks and addressing issues proactively.
Develop and monitor project schedules, estimate resource requirements, and take corrective action when necessary.
Provide guidance and prioritize tasks for project teams to ensure timely delivery.
Lead or support the development of requirements documentation, when needed.
Evaluate project success and identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities for future initiatives.
Support business and technical teams through change management and strategic communication efforts.
Ensure all projects adhere to PMO-defined project management standards or work collaboratively to define new standards where absent.
Required Expertise:
Proven experience leading large-scale IT projects from planning through execution.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance structures, and risk management.
Experience in stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and managing cross-functional project teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and deadline-driven focus.
Familiarity with enterprise architecture and understanding of how project outcomes contribute to business strategy.
Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills for executive-level reporting.
Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and project collaboration platforms.
