About the Business

Our Disability Division provides valuable support to the South Australian community through direct service delivery, inclusion policy and sector reform work. As a registered NDIS provider, they supervise and help with everyday tasks to support people living with disability to live as independently as possible. The division also encompasses quality and clinical services and the DHS Equipment Program.

Role Details

The Senior Specialist Support Coordinator is a role within DHS Disability Services and is accountable to the Manager, Service Operations for:
Providing responsive and individualised specialist support coordination and transition planning for clients of the Disability Services for Older Australians and NDIS participants with complex needs.
Providing clinical supervision and education for a multi-disciplinary team.
Working collaboratively with clients, families and carers to improve outcomes through the NDIS in a way that is respectful of peoples' human rights, putting the client at the centre of planning, and aims to improve quality of life for people living with a disability.
Delivering services to all DSOA clients and participants of the NIDS in accordance with the goals outlined in their plans, providing a service that aligns with the NDIS practice standards and quality indicators provided by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
Leading, contributing and providing direction to a multi-disciplinary team that receives complex client referrals.

Special Conditions

National Police Check required.
Employment-related Screening Check required.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).

Essential Qualifications:
An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in Disability and Developmental Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or Speech Pathology which entitles registration or membership with the relevant allied health profession's board. Occupational Therapists and Psychologists must be registered as a health practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Post Graduate certificate in Positive Behaviour Support or other post graduate studies in behaviour support is desirable.

Role Status: Ongoing

Salary Range: $104,180-$111,746 (AHP3)
