Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our technical support group, you will be responsible for providing expert-level technical assistance to partners on a wide range of Microsoft SQL Server Engine related issues.
Your expertise in database administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning will enable you to effectively resolve complex challenges and guide partners through SQL Server installations, configurations, and best practices.
You will also assist partners with database migrations, software upgrades, and service pack deployments, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal database health.
Additionally, you will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, and effectively communicate technical solutions and guidance to partners with varying levels of technical expertise.
Responsibilities:
• Provide expert-level technical support to partners on Microsoft SQL Server Engine related issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance, availability, security, and operational challenges
• Guide partners through SQL Server installations, configurations, and best practices
• Assist partners with database migrations, software upgrades, and service pack deployments
• Develop and implement database maintenance plans, including index rebuilds/reorganizations and integrity checks
• Demonstrate deep proficiency in database backup and restore strategies, recovery models, linked server configurations, and robust database maintenance plans
• Possess strong practical experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, including Replication, Log Shipping, Mirroring, and Clustering
• Exhibit expertise in implementing and managing Always On Availability Groups in SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017
• Effectively communicate technical solutions and guidance to partners with varying levels of technical expertise
• Contribute to the creation of knowledge base articles, technical documentation, and best practice guides for our partner community
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including engineering and sales, to ensure comprehensive partner support
• Adhere to rotational shift schedules to provide timely support to partners across different time zones
