As a Systems Engineer within our Level 3 Engineering Team, you will play a pivotal role in not only addressing escalations and managing problems but also in spearheading research initiatives and leading the team towards faster delivery of accountabilities through automation, enhanced tools, and optimized workflows. You will be responsible for driving problem identification, root cause analysis, scoping and architecting solutions, handling nonstandard service requests, and addressing Level 3 escalations where necessary. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the team operates efficiently, effectively, and with a focus on continuous improvement.
This role is working within an existing team that is high performing, and able to work within a broad remit of technologies / systems within the Microsoft stack.

Role responsibilities
Point of escalation for L3 complex incidents via the Service Desk
Ownership over the configuration and management of our monitoring systems to ensure visibility across our client systems
Deliver automation solutions that result in saving of time and money for tasks manual tasks
Assisting in scoping projects /reviewing SOWs where required
Periodic system audit to align with best practice compliance
Pro-active prevention across: backups, networking, virtualization, automation
Scoping and Architecture of Solutions
Problem Identification and Root Cause Analysis:
Your key attributes & experience needed
Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a senior engineering or architect role
Proven track record of leading and successfully delivering complex projects and initiatives
Experience in scoping and architecting solutions to meet business requirements while considering scalability, reliability, and security
Experience with Microsoft server technologies including AD, SQL, Exchange and CA
Experience with automation tools and technologies for process improvement
Deep understanding of cloud computing principles and architectures
Hands-on experience in handling Level 3 escalations and providing expert
guidance to resolve technical issues efficiently
Knowledge and experience in implementing and supporting solutions in Azure, including Microsoft Office 365, Azure AD
Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMWare, AHV, Hyper-V and KVM
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Windows Server management (2012 to 2022)
Networking knowledge, CCNA, Sophos, WatchGuard, Aruba & Fortinet (Highly Desirable)
Backup Technologies including Veeam (Desirable)
Experience with ConnectWise Manage and Automate (Desirable)
