We are looking for business system experts to take hold of a rare greenfield opportunity to shape a cutting-edge HR and payroll environment from the ground up.


Two roles are available to tackle system troubleshooting, drive enhancements, and provide crucial user support, ensuring seamless and efficient HR and payroll operations.


Senior Business Systems Support (HRIS) as the go to expert and
Business Systems Specialist (HRIS) working within the expert team

As Senior Business Systems Support (HRIS), you will be part of the Digital Services Team and responsible for:


Providing expert-level support for Workday and Aurion, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and user guidance
Driving continuous improvement and ongoing technical development for Council’s HR, time sheeting and payroll systems
Leading technical improvement and process uplift to maximise value across HR, time sheeting and payroll solutions for Council
Leading collaboration with the business system owner and key stakeholders to facilitate continuous improvement, ongoing system resilience and support for optimising the use and value of the HR systems for Council

Some of your key responsibilities will include:


Provide leadership and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the HR solution (HR, Payroll, time sheeting) to lead continuous improvement, drive ongoing system capability development and ensure reporting, integration integrity, architectural compliance and continued system hygiene (patching, testing and data quality)
Lead and manage the development of system and process improvements from planning to implementation driving business uplift and delivering on corporate goals
Operational engagement with vendor and senior system administration support, including incident response, escalation, patching and upgrade, new functionality and KPI/contractual compliance
Provide direction and management in collaboration with relevant business areas and SME’s to ensure ongoing system development and improvements
Oversee all maintenance processes, development of business requirements, and user acceptance test plans for enhancements for the systems to drive improved business engagement, compliance and risk reduction
Prepare appropriate budgets and work plans aligned to corporate goals and business priorities leveraging technical expertise across HR solutions
Identify, recommend and implement new system functionality, enhancements and process improvements that are likely to have a positive return on investment and align with corporate direction and business priorities
Lead and define appropriate activities to define, map, test, and implement any system changes to ensure system integrity is maintained and balanced against business priorities and effective risk management

As Business Systems Specialist (HR) you will be responsible for:


Providing professional advice in collaboration with business owners and functional analysts to support ongoing system reporting, integration integrity, ongoing architectural compliance and continued system hygiene
Managing and providing advice regarding the development of system and process improvements from planning to implementation, to drive business uplift and deliver on corporate goals
Operational engagement with vendor and senior system administration support, including incident response, escalation, patching and upgrade, new functionality and KPI/contractual compliance, while identifying system issues to prevent/minimise system disruption
Collaborating with relevant business areas and SME's to ensure ongoing system development and management
Developing, implementing and ensuring that written documentation is revised to reflect current system configuration and utilisation and provide system administration to support incident resolution and problem management
Contributing to maintenance processes, development of business requirements, and user acceptance test plans for system enhancements
Working collaboratively with stakeholders to identify, recommend and implement new functionality and enhancements

About you


To be successful in these roles you will have:


Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business, Human Resource Management or another related field or at least 5 years experience in a similar role
Experience supporting Workday and/or Aurion or similar HR systems
Experience in a business and systems specialist role including performance of design, analysis, planning, system change, upgrades, application lifecycle management and testing.
Organisational and creative problem-solving to work in a dynamic environment that involves priority setting, multi-tasking, working independently and under pressure
Problem-solving skills, implementation of system changes, system and user acceptance testing
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships and interact with employees, vendors and providers
Knowledge of solution administration and support, development and deployment of new capabilities, testing management, documentation, integration operation and troubleshoots and report development
Skills in the preparation and maintenance of documentation such as requirements, functional design, testing, procedures and implementation

These positions are permanent with a total remuneration package between $118,755 to $123,125 (including 12.5% superannuation). After one year of employment, there is the option to contribute up to 6% of the base salary as a personal superannuation contribution.
