**This is a remote position. We are currently searching for office space in the GTA to move into a hybrid model, however, we will always offer fully remote, as we have employees all over Canada!
If you thrive love creating UI/UX Figma mockups and turning them into a functional website experiences, get excited researching and configuring apps that add additional website functionality, know the ins and outs of Shopify’s admin and CLI, can read and write Liquid, Javascript, HTML, SCSS, et al, cannot live without an organized Git repo, understand the overall Ecommerce customer journey as it relates to great websites, can look at the code changelog and know exactly what a client f*cked up (and how to fix it), and enjoy doing it all in sweatpants in front of the TV while Friends or The Office is on in the background while hanging out virtually with our team, then we've got a job for you!
We're hiring a full-time Shopify Design & Developer to join our team! Reporting to our Director of Brand Strategy, and managing a team and coordinating with Clients, you’ll focus primarily on Shopify development with occasional WordPress and Webflow builds, while collaborating with our cross-functional marketing and customer service teams to enable our "Full Circle Approach to Digital Marketing" methodology. If you have a passion for writing mobile-first, clean, and maintainable code to build seamless e-commerce experiences, while working with your team of designers and other developers to get the job done, we’d love to hear from you.
Founded in 2015 with over 20 Canadian employees, we’re a Shopify Plus agency, working remotely and based in Toronto.
We do everything related to digital marketing including, but not limited to: organic and paid social media, PPC/Google ads, email & SMS marketing and automation, website design and development (duh), online customer service, and everything in between for clients across the world in industries verticals ranging from fashion, food and beverage, baby products, beauty and skincare, apparel and sportswear, real estate, health and wellness, and we even have a celebrity client or 2!
WORK WITH US AND YOU WOULD BE:
Designing & Developing Websites & Landing Pages: designing in Adobe and Figma and developing responsive, cross-browser compatible, mobile-first, and user friendly websites using HTML, Shopify Liquid, SCSS/CSS and JavaScript, with a heavy focus on site performance and conversion rate optimization, while keeping SEO best practices in mind.
Design & Development of Custom Shopify Themes, Components, and Features: using Shopify’s 2.0 OS, Liquid and CLI to develop custom themes or features to fit our Client’s needs, and ensuring maintainable and efficient code, built for performance and longevity.
Recommending, Installing and Configuring Apps/Plugins: researching, recommending, and testing apps within the relevant CMS’ ecosystem to solve site needs where custom solutions do not fit, as well as, working with Shopify’s REST and GraphQL APIs. You’ll also be coordinating with our large technology partner network, their support teams, and app documentation to install, configure, and test apps that add the required additional functionality.
Managing Version Control, Optimization and Website Maintenance: owning the ongoing optimization of our portfolio of websites while managing version control by keeping proper historical logs and repos, in tandem with managing the ongoing updates and maintenance of apps and plugins, ensuring all forms and on-site CTAs are working as expected, and ultimately ensuring all websites are functioning to the best of their ability
Strategic Web Insight: supporting the broader team on all things web, languages, apps, cross-device functionality, Shopify, Shopify Plus, Webflow, and everything in between to ensure we are up-to-date on all things web-dev and able to provide cohesive and strong support for our portfolio of clients.
Deliverable Accountability: ensuring all of your tasks are completed within given time frames, due dates, and allocated time budgets, and working with the Project Management team to overcome roadblocks or update project timelines as needed.
Continuous Learning: using our Agency only access to Shopify's and other platform’s educational content to stay up to date on all things changing, while reporting back to the team on your learnings.
YOU WILL BE MEASURED AGAINST
Producing, creating, designing, developing, and deploying deliverables within given timelines and project budgets (quantitative)
On-site metrics for sites you have built, designed, or managed such as speed score, conversion rate, exit rate (quantitative)
Your strategic ability to identify and solve problems (qualitative)
Your teamwork: everyone relies on each other for success! (qualitative)
TO WORK WITH US YOU SHOULD HAVE:
2-5 years of front-end development experience and the ability to translate Figma designs into functional websites
2-5 years of UI/UX design experience using Figma and/or the Adobe Suite
Strong proficiency in HTML, SCSS, JavaScript and jQuery,
Experience with responsive design principles.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for writing clean, accessible, and maintainable code.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Experience with integrating third-party apps and APIs and understanding data fetching, error handling, and efficient state management.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Experience using GitHub for development collaboration, code review, and testing.
Be a genuine person (no bullsh*t here)
Be a team player, willing to help when needed to get the job done
Have exceptional comprehension skills

Experience leveraging AI to add efficiency to your work and processes
Experience working with Shopify’s platform and Liquid templating language.
Experience with Shopify’s REST and GraphQL APIs for custom functionality and third-party integrations.
Familiarity with React or other modern frameworks.
