Responsibilities
The simulation educator position will teach in the skills lab and facilitate and debrief simulation activities to support the College of Nursing Simulation Programs
In addition, this position may assist with the design, operations, and evaluation of simulation activities
This position supports student success by creating an inclusive environment to learn and practice essential nursing and healthcare skills and improve critical thinking
Position may require rotating work schedule and have the ability to travel to other USF campuses and/or other locations as required
This position will report to the Director of Simulation
Work with faculty, simulation director, and Associate Dean for Simulation in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating new courses, scenarios, simulation tools, research studies and other educational, initiatives to measure learning outcomes
Integrating the use of patient simulation scenarios, virtual reality, and computer-based learning systems into the education and competency development of junior and senior nursing students
Facilitate and debrief simulated experiences
Compile educational material and supportive documents and props to enhance teaching sessions
Remain up to date with current literature and news in the simulation community
Participate in gathering and analyzing quality improvement data
Work with Director and Associate Dean to ensure the college is compliant with accreditation standards, including those of CCNE and sustaining processes that are in alignment with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare criteria for accreditation
Maintain proficiency in existing and emerging technologies and clinical applications, including basic theory, design, and implementation
Solicit instructor and student feedback following simulation experiences to analyze the impact of simulation on the learning process
Contribute to developing and implementing policies, procedures, and practices for the Simulation Center
Maintain the learning lab environment, equipment, and supplies to meet the needs of students, faculty, and course participants
Instructs in the undergraduate or graduate programs, coordinating simulation with clinical and classroom teaching outcomes and evaluating students' performances as required
Interacts with faculty, staff, and students to cultivate and support relationships for the promotion of USF-CON simulation as a state-of-the-art experiential learning experience
