**What’s the role?**
Kidspot.com.au , Australia’s leading parenting/lifestyle site, is looking for a passionate and experienced Social Media Editor to join our editorial team.
Reporting to the Editor, you will be responsible for the management and growth of all Kidspot’s social media platforms, from day-to-day tasks such as scheduling and monitoring posts to developing longer-form, key social media strategies across multiple channels.
Data and analytics are your best friends and you will be adept at using social listening tools to study post performance.
You will regularly conduct insights and trend reports and won’t be afraid to take action or make changes off the back of results.
**Other responsibilities include:**
+ Creating schedules and setting deadlines
+ Monitoring feeds, groups and inboxes to maximise user experience
+ Regular communication with marketing and commercial teams to execute competitions, Q&As, campaigns and drive affiliate revenue.
+ Providing content recommendations for paid social
+ Coordinating cross-posting with major news mastheads
+ Working collaboratively with our Video Editor to produce viral social clips that align with the Kidspot brand.
This is a full-time position with hybrid working arrangements in our Sydney Holt St office.
**Who are you?**
The successful candidate will be:
+ An exceptional social media strategist with three to five years’ experience in a similar position
+ Skilled at driving audience growth, brand awareness and referrals to site.
+ Extremely proficient at platform-specific optimisation across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Experience with Pinterest and YouTube preferred.
+ Committed to staying up to date with viral trends and breaking news
+ Comfortable with working in a fast-paced newsroom / media environment and meeting multiple deadlines per day
+ Creative and hands-on when it comes to workshopping and curating digital content across various channels
+ Proficient in copywriting and writing compelling headlines and sells – taking into account platform restrictions and recommendations
+ Detail-oriented and not afraid to trawl the comments section to find new story leads / the latest angle on a trending topic
+ Highly skilled in problem-solving and the ability to adapt quickly to changing platforms and algorithms
