The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Social Worker (Mental Health - Orchid Inpatient Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
* Provide an efficient and responsive mental health Social Work service within identified models of care and in accordance with professional, ethical and National Mental Health standards
* Utilise knowledge of Social Work theories and frameworks in understanding the impact of the environment and culture on the development of mental illness
* Undertake routine psychosocial assessments to support diagnosis, treatment, education and case management
* Apply professional judgement to facilitate effective clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence across multiple clinical areas
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
* A tertiary degree in Social Work
* Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
* Driver Licence
* Blue card / Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
* Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
* Permanent part time (40 hrs per fortnight)
* Base salary ranging from $3+.86 - $58.5+ per hour
