We are looking for someone who’ll share our passion for what we do and help us with our plans for growth.
Following a successful probationary period you will become a key part of our small but perfectly formed team, working alongside our Lead Developer, designing and building new features for the BeeBox ensuring we retain our position in the marketplace as the manufacturer of the most popular venue entertainment system available in the UK.
Work-life balance is not just a statement – we live it! And as a company we have been championing remote working for some time. Ideally, you’ll be comfortable working from a home office and fully conversant with remote working communication tools such as Zoom and MS Teams. The occasional visit to our Northumberland premises for development meetings may be required.
Your typical duties will include:

• Working closely with our Lead Developer and the team to deliver an amazing product experience for BeeBox end users.
• Contributing new ideas to develop features and refactoring areas of code.
• Continually expand your knowledge of both our business, end users of our products & competitors and the technology domain. We have the resources, and we’ll give you the time to learn!
You
Will have at least 1 year's commercial experience within a software development role.
Ideally you will be fluent in:
• JavaScript (latest ES revisions)
• PHP
• HTML5 & CSS
· Experienced with Node.js & Express
· Familiar with front-end libraries such as React & Vue
· Familiar with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap 5.
· Familiar with MySQL / MariaDB
· Familiar with Windows command line and Linux shells.
• You must be eligible to work in the UK and can be available to start in the role 2024.
We also value the following attributes:
• Strong attention to detail. If a job is worth doing, we believe it's worth doing right.
• An inquisitive and questioning mindset.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• A Team player – We’re a small but tightly knit team. We believe being able to write and articulate your thoughts are great skills to have in any business.
Benefits
· For the right individual this new role within our team presents an opportunity to grow as a Software Developer whilst carving out a career with a forward thinking, visionary company. As such the salary is negotiable dependent upon your experience.
· Hybrid working – Work from home (with occasional meetings at our office)
· Matched work-based pension scheme.
· 33 days paid holiday per annum.
Applying for the role
Our application process is simple, just reply to this Linked In post sending us your CV and telling us what you believe you can bring to the role and why you are suited to the appointment. The interview process will involve a phone interview, an 'at home' programming exercise which should take no more than a couple of hours, followed by interview either via Teams/Zoom or in-person.
