Software Engineer (Developer) – Contract Opportunity
Rate Guide: $650–$+50 per day
Location: ACT, QLD, TAS, VIC (Hybrid)
Contract Length: 3 months (potential extension up to 12 months)
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Developer) to contribute to the development of government digital services. This role is ideal for a skilled front-end developer with strong JavaScript expertise, capable of designing, building, and optimizing web applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Front-End Development – Build and enhance user interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Frameworks & Libraries – Work with Node.js and modern JavaScript frameworks to create responsive web applications.
• Collaboration – Work closely with UX/UI designers, back-end developers, and stakeholders.
• Code Optimization – Write clean, maintainable code with a focus on performance and cross-browser compatibility.
• Testing & Debugging – Develop test scripts, conduct manual and automated testing.
• Version Control – Utilize Git and other tools for effective code management.
• Documentation – Maintain documentation for transparency and best practices.
• Required Skills & Experience:2+ years of software development experience
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks & libraries (e.g., Node.js)
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaboration tools
• Knowledge of responsive design and data visualization tools
• Strong debugging and testing skills
• Work Environment & Expectations:Hybrid Work Model – Initial 6 weeks onsite in the capital city of your selected state, followed by a flexible work arrangement (minimum 3 days onsite per week).
• Government Project – Engage in critical digital initiatives for government services.
• Potential Extensions – Up to 12 months based on project needs.
