The Solution Architect role underpins the sustainability and growth of EML, providing Architecture solutions and Technology Strategy/Roadmap authoring & support. The role will work closely with the Head of Technology Solutions and Support to gain an understanding of core applications, technical challenges and opportunities for uplift and transformation. Setting a future state vision and sustainable path to obtain that technical vision is an essential part of this role.
This will be a full time, 12-month contract position based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for assisting in the establishment of a Solution Architecture practice, and the adoption of an architecture and standards methodology.
Manages activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation.
Reviews business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.
Communicates the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain architects in the formalisation and adoption of standards and procedures.
Champions a structured approach to business application solutions.
Directly assists in the development of solutions architecture roadmaps and application portfolios for IT systems architecture.
Responsible for the creation of our Multicloud current state & future state vision and architecture.
Responsible for creation of roadmap for Dev/Sec/Ops adoption and operating model.
Drive adoption of Kubernetes and the strategy and migration to this technology

ABOUT YOU
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
Minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience related to IT Management, Software Engineering or other information technology solutions architecture role
Demonstrated ability to communicate the complexities of technical programs and change
Experience in software engineering and design architecture
Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes as it relates to Architecture requirements
Familiarity with, and demonstrated use of, Architecture frameworks e.g., TOGAF, Zachmann, NIST, BizBok etc
Experience with agile tools and methodologies (e.g., Kanban, Scrum, Confluence, JIRA)
