El Taquero & Chilango are locally owned and operated fresh casual restaurants in Kelowna BC. We are professional, agile and innovative. In addition to innovative kitchen and bar programs; we also have an extensive catering offerings including private dining, full service and drop off packages. Our goal is to continue to be the best option for Mexican cuisine in the Okanagan; with a focus on friendly service, flavour and value.

We are seeking experienced kitchen professionals for senior roles in our two locations; El Taquero Tacos & Tequila and Chilango Modern Mexican Restaurant; both located in the Downtown core of Kelowna.

Position will depend on passion and experience; overall responsibilities will be as follows:

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards and regulations
- Create and develop new menu items, taking into consideration customer preferences and dietary restrictions
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Manage inventory and order supplies to maintain stock levels
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop and implement cost-effective strategies for menu planning and pricing
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Handle any customer concerns or complaints related to food quality or service

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a chef or cook in the food industry
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of bartending techniques is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
