Summary

Northern Trust is looking for a Full stack developer. This applicant is responsible for application development for Goals Driven Wealth

Management application built in public cloud environment.

The Goals Driven Wealth Management platform is a showcase product for Northern Trust’s Wealth

Management business and must demonstrate our ability to deliver innovative technology solutions.

Because we believe the following technologies are the future, we are seeking a skilled React Developer

who is able to create aesthetically pleasing user interfaces using the React framework for web. You will

use your knowledge to create modular, scalable and efficient components.

Applicant must be able to effectively develop the application using React JS Technology Stack.

This position also requires having a clear understanding of the design patterns in use.

Candidate must have the ability to communicate and working with diverse global teams is critical.

Major Duties
• Application development for Goals Driven Wealth Management re-platform.
• Develop best-in-class practices around code and application delivery life cycles.
• Partner works closely with architects, product teams and global delivery teams to craft great product experiences
• Identify appropriate technical solutions that provide business value while mitigating technical

debt
• Liaise with the Wealth Lead Architecture Groups.

Knowledge/Skills
• Agile Methodology
• Knowledge of user interface frameworks, Java, Application servers
• Knowledge of full software development lifecycle
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• A positive goal orientated attitude with a focus on delivery

Required Skills
• Design and implement user interfaces which are coded using the React.js framework.
• Ensure user interfaces that are being built meet all the business requirements outlined by the stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Redux and Redux Saga.
• Optimize code to be extremely efficient to ensure high performance.
• Experience working with unit testing frameworks like Jest, Enzyme and React Testing Library and

Test Driven Development.
• Write high-quality reusable code to develop the dynamic user interface for various platforms

adhering to ADA compliance.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design and programming concepts, core JavaScript

concepts like scope/closures, the event loop and asynchronous callbacks, promises. Able to

navigate full stack development easily.
• Optimize front-end elements to maximize performance across different devices and browsers.
• Software Delivery following Agile practices and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of the financial services industry, Wealth Management preferred.
• Experience with a heavily regulated industry.

Nice to have
• Experience in financial services.

Experience
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Overall 6-8/+ Years of Industry experience
• 2+ years of Experience in agile Teams
• Minimum 3+ years development experience
