Position Overview: The ideal candidate for the Sr. Executive / Asst. Manager – Safety role is a seasoned safety professional with 5-10 years of experience in industrial safety management. They should have a strong background in implementing safety initiatives and ensuring statutory compliance. The candidate should hold an ADIS/PDIS certification along with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety or Environment. Expertise in legal and statutory compliance management, conducting plant inspections, risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to work permit systems is required. The candidate should have a proven track record in investigating incidents, conducting safety training, managing environmental monitoring, and handling hazardous waste disposal in line with guidelines. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as well as the ability to lead initiatives in energy measurement and conservation. The role also demands proactive management of health and wellness programs, ensuring operational readiness of firefighting equipment, and conducting regular mock drills to maintain a safe work environment.

Position Description:

Key Tasks & Accountabilities:
• Assist in the implementation of initiatives for improving the Safety Culture.
• Conduct plant inspections to assess physical conditions and work practices, advising on measures to address unsafe conditions and actions.
• Issue and check Work Permits, ensuring work is conducted with proper authorization.
• Submit returns relevant to statutory compliances relating to Safety, Environment, Health, and Fire.
• Investigate and take corrective action on accidents and incidents.
• Deliver training in Safety, Environment, Health, and Fire.
• Oversee Environment Monitoring and suggest corrections if needed.
• Handle MPCB Annual return and hazardous waste disposal.

Important Competencies:
• Compliance with statutory requirements related to Environment.
• Maintaining individual wellness and health.
• Effective operations of the Occupational Health Centre.
• Monthly inspection of firefighting equipment.
• Conducting mock drills and fire drills at frequent intervals.
• Energy measurement and conservation.
• Implementation and maintenance of environmental protection practices.

Academic & Professional Qualifications:
• ADIS/PDIS from a technical examination board with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• Post Graduate or Bachelor’s degree in Environment and Safety with relevant experience.

Experience:
• 5–10 years’ experience in the relevant field.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge in Legal & Statutory compliance management.
• Understanding of energy measurement concepts.

KRAs and KPIs: Duties and Responsibilities to be defined based on organizational needs.

General Remarks:
• The expected CTC should not exceed 20-25% of the current CTC and must be within the budget.
• A psychometric test will be conducted if the candidate progresses to the HR stage.

Education: ADIS/PDIS from a technical examination board with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or a Post Graduate or Bachelor’s degree in Environment and Safety with relevant experience.

Work Schedule:
• Sunday to Friday: Regular working days
• Saturday: Day off

Plant Location Working Days: Six days a week, with Saturday as a day off and Sunday as a regular working day.
