PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $134,200.00-$164,000.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $104,200.00 - $1+4,000.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Impact You’ll Make

As a Sr. Pega Software Developer at BECU, you will drive the development of enterprise-class software solutions using the Pega platform. Your role will involve designing and coding new features, automated tests, and data models while leading development efforts with junior developers. You’ll develop robust technical solutions for complex business challenges and ensure software is designed to be secure and scalable. You’ll also manage continuous integration builds, deployment pipelines, and be part of on-call rotations to support production deployments. Through your expertise, you’ll contribute to system design, collaborate with technical leadership, and mentor other developers, all while building software that transforms the business.

What You’ll Do
• Lead Development Efforts: Write code, design features, and build enterprise-class software using Pega while mentoring junior developers and ensuring adherence to BECU standards.
• Develop Prototypes and Solutions: Combine your technical expertise with a deep understanding of software design to develop prototypes, proofs of concept, and robust software solutions.
• Improve Code Quality: Review and enhance existing code, identifying areas for improvement and implementing code optimizations and updates as needed.
• Collaborate with Architects: Engage with architects and technical leaders to help define the team’s technology roadmap and long-term vision.
• Automate Processes: Take a self-directed approach to automating and improving business processes, leveraging Pega’s capabilities to drive efficiency and innovation.
• Support Integration Services: Implement Pega integrations using REST, SOAP, and other web services, ensuring secure and efficient communication between systems.
• Ensure Secure Development: Apply secure development best practices, using static code analysis tools to identify and resolve security flaws, ensuring high-quality code.
• Manage CI/CD Pipelines: Create and manage continuous integration (CI) builds and deployment pipelines, ensuring smooth software releases and deployment processes.
• Mentor and Guide Junior Developers: Provide guidance to less experienced team members through code reviews, feedback, and mentoring, helping them grow their skills and expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong understanding of the Pega Platform with a minimum of eight years of experience developing Pega solutions.
• Certified Senior System Architect or higher.
• Deep understanding of secure development best practices, with experience using static code analysis tools to identify and correct coding flaws.
• Hands-on experience implementing Pega integration services using REST, SOAP, etc.
• Experience across all phases of software development, including design, configuration, testing, debugging, and deployment of large-scale Pega platform applications.
• Proficiency in Pega version 8.0 or above and experience with Pega Customer Service & Sales, Quavo, and service modules.
• Experience delivering scalable solutions across multiple programming languages (e.g., .NET, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, SQL).
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and open-source systems (Linux/bash).
• Expertise in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TeamCity.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using YAML and implementing automated test-driven development.
• Proficient with Git, including performing code reviews, pull requests, and following branching standards such as Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development.
• Experience with both relational and non-relational data modeling and data analysis.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications
• Certified Lead System Architect
• Hands-on experience in Pega version 8.0 or above, with a focus on Pega Customer Service & Sales and Quavo service modules.
• Experience with debugging, performance analysis, and general health monitoring of Pega applications (e.g., PDC, guardrails).
• Familiarity with static code analysis tools and secure coding practices.
