Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Aqeeq. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and the delivery of high-quality food to our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to showcase their skills in a dynamic and creative environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist Head Chef: Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation to maintain consistency and quality standards. Food Preparation: Oversee food preparation activities, including but not limited to, chopping vegetables, preparing meats, seafood, and poultry, and ensuring that all ingredients are readily available for cooking. Cooking and Plating: Execute cooking tasks according to recipes and guidelines provided by the Head Chef, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes to ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. Kitchen Management: Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef, including scheduling, inventory management, and maintaining kitchen equipment in good working condition. Training and Supervision: Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff, including training on cooking techniques, food safety procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Menu Development: Contribute ideas for new menu items, seasonal specials, and promotions, keeping in mind customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and food trends. Customer Satisfaction: Work closely with front-of-house staff to address customer feedback and ensure a positive dining experience for all patrons. Cost Management: Assist in monitoring food costs, portion control, and waste management to maximize profitability while maintaining high-quality standards. Qualifications: Proven experience working as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment. In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Creativity and passion for food, with a willingness to experiment and innovate. Certification from a culinary school or relevant training programs is preferred.
