Responsibilities
The Senior Staff Accountant will play a critical role in the accounting department by overseeing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
This role also requires collaboration with various departments to maintain financial integrity and support management in financial decision-making
General Ledger Accounting: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing requested documentation and explanations of accounting treatments
Compliance & Regulations: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations by studying existing and new legislation
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
Tax Filings: Assist with the preparation of tax filings, including sales tax, income tax, and other regulatory filings
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
Financial Analysis: Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff and assist in their professional development

This role also requires collaboration with various departments to maintain financial integrity and support management in financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
• General Ledger Accounting: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
