Tuvli, an Akima company, is hiring for a Staff Assistant level I to support our DoS client located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities
• Directly supports the (Region) Director and Deputy as well as (Team Leads, etc.) within the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO).
• Analyzes, drafts, edits, and prepares a wide variety of memos, proposals, policy recommendations, official correspondence, reports, and other documents of a highly sensitive nature directed to the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) for decision, clearance, or endorsement.
• Keeps the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) leadership informed, at all times, of the latest developments in matters that requires their immediate and urgent attention using phone, e-mail, mail, and impromptu meetings to both receive and quickly transmit essential information.
• Ensures responsible staff is kept apprised of action items required of and by the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) leadership.
• Drafts, edits, and compiles information for newsletters, emails, and other formats from (Region) office teams for producing material for the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO). leadership Foreign Office (FO).
• Accesses areas requiring a security clearance, up to including TS/SCI.
• Accesses systems - up to and including SCI - hand-carry, and/or safeguard classified materials on behalf of the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) leadership and other members of the bureau as required to execute the bureau’s mission.
Provides guidance to the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) staff (drafters) and management on content, formatting, clearance process, etc., through periodic training seminars and during daily operations.
• Facilitates internal meetings, training sessions, and discussions related to the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) administrative policy and procedures.
• Facilitates administrative arrangements for meetings, conferences, travel, etc., applying familiarity with the responsible officials’ schedules, commitments, and areas of responsibility.
• As required, attends meetings with the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) leadership, takes notes, and conduct required follow-up.
• Serves as a backup for travel-related logistical arrangements for the Assistant Secretary and PDAS.
• Receives distinguished visitors as required.
• Escorts individuals as required per the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) Policy, security standards or direction of Task Manger, COR, or EX Director.
• Serves as backup for the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) FOIA point of contact.
• Serves as backup for the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) records management.
• Serves as backup for the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) SharePoint site.
• Serves as backup point of contact for Congressional Notifications.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, International Relations, Public Administration, or any related field.
• Must possess highly developed written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to learn and understand the views of the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) leadership to enable the incumbent to perform duties such as making independent decisions and preparing correspondence for those officials.
• Ability to learn the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s (CSO) mission, programs, goals, objectives, and substantive issues monitored by the Front Office as they relate to the overall administrative structure and processes of the Department.
• Knowledge of and ability to use the most current Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, and Outlook.
• Active Secret clearance.
