About the Role:

The key purpose of the Customer Experience Statutory Planner role is to work with applicants, our community and other internal partners to ensure the proper and orderly land use, development and subdivision outcomes within Bayside. Our team seeks to deliver these outcomes through education and facilitation to deliver extraordinary places and liveability.

You will be responsible for:

Providing high quality technical Statutory Planning advice that meets the needs of the community, developers, landowners and Council. This will involve a strong focus on phone and counter enquiries.
Processing Statutory Planning services, including some applications and enquiries, within the timelines set in Team Targets or statutory requirements.
Providing general oversight over the Statutory Planning Departments phones and counter enquiries role, responsibilities and overall function.
Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

Ability to understand and interpret Planning and Subdivision legislation, the Bayside Planning Scheme and planning policy and principles at a high level.
Ability to effectively project manage the processing of planning applications, enquiries and/or types of planning decisions.
Demonstrated ability to provide a very high standard of service to customers.
Demonstrated ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, as well as planning process administration and records management tools.
High level oral and written English communication skills including proficiency at letter writing.
Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
Relevant practical work experience.
Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
