Structural AutoCAD Technician, Central London, £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, plus pension, bonus & benefits
This position is offering an experienced structural CAD technician the opportunity to gain Revit / BIM expertise, and employment that offers good long term security. Our client has a secured, ten year workload, the result of working within the busy data centre, energy distribution and renewables sectors. You would be joining a highly successful part of their business that is steadily expanding.
The company: One of the UK’s longest established, independent practices. They employ over 200 staff, their expertise includes civil and structural engineering, architecture, building surveying and project management.
Your Role: You will report to the CAD manager and work closely with your structural engineering colleagues. Your focus will be on the production of 2D general arrangement structural drawings, with a growing focus on 3D Revit models as your skills develop. The workload will cover a range of structural superstructures for buildings, typically designed in steel, masonry and concrete, with slightly more emphasis on steel structures
Training: Revit training is provided by Autodesk in conjunction with the CAD manager, and through on the job mentoring. More generally, the firm supports professional development through in house and external training , and regular CPD activities.
Profile Required: At least five years’ experience using Auto CAD that includes the production of general arrangement drawings. A consulting engineering background focused on buildings or industrial structures. You should be a team player who can collaborate with engineering colleagues to deliver accurate and timely work. A willingness to learn and develop is essential.
