The Marketing Coordinator - Campaign Planning and Strategist is responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing strategic marketing campaigns, with a specific focus on End-of-Year (EOY) and Ramadan fundraising initiatives. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, creative messaging development, and cross-departmental collaboration to maximize donor engagement and campaign success.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis:
EOY Campaign: Analyze giving trends during December, focusing on factors like year-end tax benefits and the holiday spirit of giving.
Ramadan Campaign: Understand the significance of Zakat (charitable giving) and Sadaqah in Ramadan, identifying peak donation periods such as the last 10 nights.
Study donor behavior from past campaigns to inform strategy and decision-making.
Research competitors’ EOY and Ramadan campaigns to gather insights and best practices.
Messaging and Content Development:
EOY Messaging:
Emphasize gratitude and impact, using themes such as "Your generosity changes lives all year round."
Leverage storytelling, including testimonials and updates from beneficiaries.
Ramadan Messaging:
Create culturally resonant content highlighting the spiritual significance of giving during Ramadan.
Draft assets such as emails, social media campaigns, landing pages, blogs, and paid ads tailored to both campaigns.
Digital Strategy:
Social Media:
Develop a content schedule with posts tied to key dates like Ramadan’s first day, Laylatul Qadr, and EOY tax deadlines.
Incorporate interactive content such as quizzes, polls, or video testimonials to boost engagement.
Email Marketing:
Craft segmented email campaigns tailored to donors’ giving history and preferences.
Paid Ads:
Optimize landing pages for conversions, ensuring a seamless donation experience.
Collaboration and Partnerships:
Coordinate with internal teams across departments to align messaging and campaign goals.
Partner with influencers or ambassadors to amplify the campaign’s reach, particularly during Ramadan.
Engage with community organizations, mosques, and Islamic centers to promote the campaigns and foster partnerships.
Monitoring and Adjustments:
Use analytics tools to monitor campaign performance:
EOY Campaign: Track daily donation spikes, email open rates, and ad performance.
Ramadan Campaign: Monitor key giving nights, social media engagement, and donation patterns.
Adjust strategies in real time, such as reallocating ad spend during the last 10 nights of Ramadan.
Reporting and Evaluation:
Prepare detailed reports for both campaigns, highlighting:
Total funds raised.
Engagement metrics (e.g., clicks, shares, likes).
Return on investment (ROI) for paid advertising.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations for future EOY and Ramadan campaigns.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience in marketing, campaign strategy, or digital communications, preferably in a nonprofit or fundraising setting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and inform strategy.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools, including email marketing platforms, social media scheduling tools, and analytics software.
Creative mindset with the ability to craft compelling and culturally resonant messaging.
Eligibility
This position is part of the Canadian government’s summer job program.
Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or a protected person within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Able to provide a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).
Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
