About the role:

As a Summer Program Educator at Compass ELC Lindsay, you'll join a team of passionate professionals dedicated to nurturing young minds. This role will work with children, families, and community partners to create enriching learning experiences based on their interests and passions. You'll work 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, with the kinders and school-age children. Shift start and end times will fluctuate within the program's operating hours of 7 am to 6 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and lead interest-based and play-based activities that reflect children’s unique interests to promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
Maintain active supervision of children while still being engaged in play.
Documenting children’s learning progress through observation, reflection, and research questions.
Create and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety, and well-being of children.
Assist the children with diapering, dressing, and eating habits.
Foster strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning process.
Collaborate with coworkers, families, and community partners to create a supportive environment.
Participate in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, and staff training opportunities.
Assist in housekeeping duties within the program.
Follow CELC, CCEYA, and Ministry of Education policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

Requirements:

1-3 years’ experience working/volunteering with children and youth.
Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.
Valid certifications include a Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check, Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, and updated immunization records.
Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
OR has a post-secondary degree in a similar field (i.e., Child and Youth Care, Recreation and Leisure, Social Service Work, Bachelor of Education, etc.)
OR is interested in pursuing their ECE diploma.
