Job Description:

Position Overview:As a Supermarket Billing cum Cashier, your primary responsibility is to ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer transactions, handle cash, and provide excellent customer service. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive shopping experience for customers while efficiently managing the checkout process.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Assist customers with any inquiries regarding products, prices, or promotions.
Resolve customer complaints or issues related to billing and transactions.

Billing and Cash Handling:Scan and process products accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Calculate and communicate the total cost, including taxes and discounts, to customers.
Provide change and receipts to customers.

Transaction Accuracy:Ensure the. accuracy of prices and quantities when processing transactions.
Monitor and identify discrepancies in prices or product codes and rectify them promptly.

Maintaining Clean and Organized Workspace:Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and free from clutter.
Arrange and restock shopping bags, receipt paper, and other supplies as needed.

Adherence to Policies and Procedures:Follow the supermarket's policies and procedures related to billing, cash handling, and customer service.
Adhere to security measures to prevent theft and fraud.

Collaboration with Team:Work collaboratively with other team members, including stock clerks and supervisors.
Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth operation at the checkout counters.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:Prior experience in a cashier or retail setting is preferred.

Skills:Strong numerical and cash-handling skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in transaction processing.
Ability to handle stressful situations and manage high customer volumes.

Technology Proficiency:Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.

Availability:Flexibility in work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
