Job Title: Support - Credit Control
Department: Finance / Accounts
Location: Nungambakkam
Reports to: Credit Control Manager / Finance Head
Job Purpose:
To assist the Credit Control team in managing outstanding accounts receivables, ensuring timely collection of payments, maintaining accurate records, and providing support in credit risk management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in monitoring customer accounts for overdue payments.
• Follow up with customers via calls, emails, and letters regarding outstanding balances.
• Maintain up-to-date records of customer communications and payment statuses.
• Support the Credit Control team in sending invoices, account statements, and reminders.
• Help process and reconcile customer payments against invoices.
• Assist in evaluating customer creditworthiness based on company policies.
• Escalate problematic accounts to senior team members with clear documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, etc.) to resolve customer disputes and billing queries.
• Prepare regular reports related to aged debtors and collection status.
• Support the month-end closing process related to accounts receivable.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in a finance or accounts receivable role (freshers can be considered for junior support roles).
• Basic understanding of credit control and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); knowledge of ERP systems (like SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
