Job Opportunity

The Alabama Department of Education seeks a dedicated and compassionate Support Professional to join its team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of school-age children who require assistance with physical, mental, and behavioral needs.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and stakeholders, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
• Provide individualized support to students, addressing their diverse needs and goals.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and implement effective strategies for student success.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to student progress and program operations, informing data-driven decisions.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, enhancing skills and knowledge to better serve students.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of two years of accumulated college credits (48 semester hours) or a 2-year degree from an accredited college/university, demonstrating academic rigor and dedication.
• Experience working with students who require assistance with physical, mental, and behavioral needs, showcasing empathy and understanding.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion and heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds), prioritizing student safety and well-being.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Physical Demands:
• Lift and carry up to 100 pounds on a regular basis, adhering to established safety protocols.
• Walk and stand for 85% of the work shift, maintaining a high level of energy and engagement.
• Regularly stoop, bend, twist, turn, and reach, ensuring flexibility and mobility.
• Adequate strength, dexterity, and agility to perform all tasks assigned, embracing challenges with confidence.
Compensation:

$45,000 - $60,000 per year.
