Salary Range: $5+,711 to $10+,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Effective Date: September 1, 2025, to not later than June 30, 2027

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:

The Indigenous Education Enhancement Teacher/Grad Coach —will work directly with students, teachers, staff and community. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of Learning Services. Preference may be given to candidates of Indigenous ancestry.

extensive academic training, professional preparation and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment
knowledge of and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, curriculum (core and curricular competencies), teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment
Demonstrated ability, and skilled in, creating relationships and connections within the school and community, to bring awareness to supports and opportunities for students.
Recent successful classroom teaching experience
Ability to co-plan, co-teach, and support educators in the development of Indigenous-focused curriculum and instructional strategies
demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Stó:lō history, heritage and culture
extensive knowledge of secondary curriculum, graduation requirements and post-secondary opportunities
extensive experience building meaningful success plans for secondary students using My Education BC for scheduling, reporting, attendance, assessments etc.
a strong understanding of available educational programs and services including work and career experience, assisting with post-secondary documentation, scholarship/bursary coordination, an understanding of timetables and scheduling as it relates to building a customized success plan for the student.
demonstrated ability to work with a range of internal and external interest-holders (First Nations, community, District, school-teams, etc) to integrate academic achievement and Indigenous culture within a positive social, emotional, and educational learning experience
demonstrated ability to plan, collaborate and present for conferences, pro-d and community events
Experience and leadership in supporting students, families and staff using the First Peoples Principles of Learning
demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with district learning services departments (Indigenous Education, Curriculum and Student Services) to support Indigenous students and school staff
ability to plan and implement holistic plans and strategies focused on balance, wellness and restorative methods learning content that ranges from historical to contemporary while maintaining the dignity of Indigenous students, families and community
demonstrated understanding of a systems approach to instruction and intervention (e.g. RTI, UDL).
demonstrated commitment to working with FESL data including Indigenous student achievement data, EDI, MDI, Student Learning Survey, FSA, attendance, transitions, etc.
excellent relational, leadership, organizational and coordination skills
applicants must possess a valid BC Driver's License and have the use of a vehicle
