Join us as a Tax Manager, Advisory & Project Support

We’re looking for a tax expert to support the Tax Advisory teams on a variety of project and transaction work
Day-to-day, you’ll support experienced tax professionals in progressing a number of HMRC enquiries in an efficient and commercial manner using your tax technical knowledge to add value
You’ll make a far-reaching impact by being a trusted advisor and creating an environment that’s focused on continuous improvement
We’re offering this role for a period of 12 months
What you’ll do
In line with our Tax Strategy, you'll build effective relationships with key business stakeholders, colleagues within Finance and other teams within the Tax function.

You'll also support the provision of tax advice on a range of products and transactions, including tax technical advice, documentation reviews, mitigating residual tax risks and ensuring ongoing compliance with the bank’s Tax Strategy. You’ll have the opportunity to use your tax technical experience across a wide range of products and transactions.


You’ll also be:

Project managing a number of high profile HMRC enquiries, ensuring timely delivery of information and constructive internal and external engagement
Providing tax advisory support across a number of business lines with a focus on the Commercial & Institutional (C&I) franchise
Reviewing transactions and undertaking the first review of new products across the C&I franchise, often to tight transaction deadlines
Working with senior managers in assessing the tax risk, including reputational risk, arising from a range of projects and business areas
The skills you’ll need
To join us in this role, you’ll need to have either a professional accountancy or tax qualification, and strong business acumen and commercial and risk awareness.

You’ll also need:

Significant post-qualification tax experience in either practice or industry
Good UK tax knowledge and experience of dealing with HMRC
Strong communication skills, along with people management skills
Project management and implementation skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines
