About the role

The Medical Specialties team of Starship Hospital is on the lookout for a Team Administrator to join their friendly team in a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) capacity.

The Team Administrator provides administrative support to the senior clinical team. Daily tasks may include assisting managers and clinicians with scheduling needs, order stationery/clinical supplies, coordinate travel requirements and complete necessary digital filing.

About the Team

The Medical Specialities ward (26B) provides tertiary and quaternary care to children including treatment for long term and specialist medical conditions. Our ward specialises in caring for children from the neonatal period right up to age sixteen with complex and often long-term needs relating to Renal, Gastro and Respiratory.

Starship Child Health is a dedicated paediatric healthcare service and major teaching centre, providing family centred care to neonates, children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. Starship is a part of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and is the only comprehensive children’s hospital in New Zealand serving a population of approximately 1 million children.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

Experience working in a team administration or secretarial role for two plus years
A positive attitude with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
At least two years of customer service experience
Well-developed communication and critical thinking skills and intermediate to advanced ability in Microsoft applications
The ability to prioritise work and take proactive approach to manage their time and workload
A strong commitment to quality healthcare
Be capable of working independently and within a team
Experience working in the hospital environment and be familiar with MS Office capability including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
