About the job
In this role, you will:
Develop and implement province-wide negotiation and communication strategies with Ontario Health and hospital sector partners.
Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and training to a team of analysts and advisors.
Design and implement performance indicators to evaluate hospital operations and their impact on expenditures, health system performance, and patient care outcomes.
Apply funding frameworks and financial principles to monitor and interpret hospital performance and funding trends.
Lead financial expertise on hospital funding policies and models.
Assess and advise on the financial health of hospitals, providing funding policy and analytical advice to senior management.
What you bring to the team
Healthcare Knowledge:
You have knowledge of:
Public administration, program planning, and healthcare system evaluation.
Provincial healthcare issues, legislation, funding, and governance to align policy and program design with ministry objectives.
Hospital funding and agreements for financial planning and analysis.
Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills:
You can:
Provide strategic expertise and leadership in negotiating accountability agreements with Ontario Health (OH).
Utilize strategic planning and negotiating techniques to lead and coordinate team activities.
Assess financial data to develop program proposals and evaluate hospital performance indicators (funding, governance, patient care).
Identify and resolve program delivery, accountability, and financial issues.
Apply mediation and dispute resolution skills to address differing opinions.
Project Management and Leadership Skills:
You can:
Lead and coordinate strategic communication and implementation of cabinet submissions, legislation, regulations, and policy recommendations related to hospital funding and allocation.
Oversee and guide a team of consultants.
Initiate and lead risk and financial impact analyses to inform policy changes and recommend new investment/funding policies aligned with ministry initiatives.
Communication and Relationship Management Skills:
You can:
Develop and manage positive relationships with ministry colleagues and OH/hospital sector partners.
Demonstrate negotiation skills to plan and lead negotiations.
Establish working relationships with senior officials and provide advice to management.
Prepare and present reports and briefing materials to senior management.
