The Opportunity

Reporting to the Maternal and Child Health Coordinator, we are seeking an experienced, passionate, and innovative Maternal and Child Health nurse who has a strong understanding of the impacts of vulnerability on young children and their families.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced MCH Nurse to lead and coordinate the Enhanced MCH service. The position will play a vital support role in supporting the Maternal and Child Health Coordinator and leading the Enhanced MCH team in the implementation and application of service best practice. You will also participate in MCH strategic and service planning, budget review and service planning.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver a high-performance team culture and provide leadership, coaching and high-quality supervision.
Provide clinical practice support for practitioners working within the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health service and undertake clinical sessions as required.
Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures as well as a plan that strongly positions the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Service for population growth.
Deliver and contribute to Council goals as outlined in the Council Health and Wellbeing Plan and the Melton: A City for All People plan.
Make decisions on the day to day running of the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health service, to ensure optimum outcomes in all aspects of service delivery, Government policy and the Maternal and Child Health program standards.
Provide day to day coordination of the Enhanced MCH service with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Ensure a high standard of service, consistent with Council and Government policy and Maternal and Child Health program standards.
Provide accurate and timely reports, advice and support to management as requested as well as contribute to the annual budget and reporting process and monitor expenditure.

About you


To be successful in this role you will be able to satisfy the requirements to work as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse in Victoria and have:

Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (division1) and Midwife.
Experience with use of CDIS IT program or a willingness to learn.
A current Victorian Driver’s licence
A current Working with Children Check
