Job description
We are seeking a senior technician to join the central team of an innovative, high performing multi-academy trust with schools across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The Technical Phase Lead will lead the technical services strategy to support the delivery of excellent teaching and learning and related admin functions.
Main responsibilities;
• Develop and implement a strategy for assigned areas of responsibility, review skills gaps and develop a CPD programme for continuous improvement, collaborating with other phases.
• Deliver the configuration and maintenance for all infrastructure, configure and maintain network monitoring in line with the service strategy.
• Review, develop and test security best practices prior to implementation across the organisation.
• Responsible for ensuring the organisation has an accurate asset log using the inventory system
• Ensuring credential documentation is always kept up to date and follows best practice.
• Manage relationships with 3rd party suppliers ensuring they deliver against the agreed service level agreements.
• Ensure procurement processes are followed to ensure best value is achieved.
• Advise on compatibility of hardware, applications, and operating systems, according to user requirements.
• Deliver staff training on using digital technology.
The successful candidate will be educated to at least ‘GCSE’ standard with English and Maths at level C or above, together with a qualification in a related field. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of technologies employed in schools, ideally from experience as a senior technician in a large organization. You will have a good understanding of statutory requirements and legislation relating to the use of technology to safeguard both children and staff.
An advanced user of Microsoft Office, the Technical Phase Lead will analyse data confidently and possess excellent written, oral, interpersonal & negotiation skills. You will be able to produce accurate work with a keen eye for detail, working flexibly to meet deadlines and responding to unplanned situations.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle will be required for this role.
