Job Purpose
The Canadian Technical Salesperson will implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives through Canadian sales by leveraging their technical expertise to provide tailored solutions for clients in the Canadian market. This role involves detailed product application knowledge, conducting technical presentations, presenting Envent’s technical offerings at industry events, and collaborating closely with the engineering team to ensure product compatibility and customer satisfaction.
This position plays a critical role in monitoring the industry, business environment, competitors, and customers to develop action plans for expanding and retaining the customer base, growing Envent’s Canadian market share by aligning technical product knowledge with customer needs, maintaining regular contact with key accounts, and identifying new market segments in collaboration with Business Development.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Sales Lifecycle Management
Manage all phases of the sales process from lead generation to purchase order receipt.
Assess client requirements and gather technical specifications for proposal generation.
Coordinate with engineering to prepare custom solutions and detailed technical proposals.
Follow up on outstanding quotes and proposals; negotiate terms and close deals.
Submit accurate sales orders to Inside Sales and support timely delivery.
Client Relations and Territory Management
Build and nurture strong relationships with key Canadian clients, distributors, and stakeholders.
Conduct market research to understand unique customer needs, trends, and competitors.
Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, industry forums, and networking events, promoting the company’s solutions and capabilities.
Utilize market data and analytics to provide strategic recommendations for positioning Envent’s offerings in the marketplace.
Product Knowledge and Technical Expertise:
Develop an in-depth understanding of Envent Engineering’s product portfolio and its applications within process gas industries.
Provide technical support and product demonstrations to potential and existing clients.
Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to provide strategic insights.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Collaborate with internal teams, including production and service, to ensure timely delivery and long-term client satisfaction.
Maintain detailed records of all sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
Provide accurate and timely information on customer feedback to the Sales Manager for continuous improvement.
Operational Compliance:
Conduct business according to Envent’s Business Process Operations System (BPOS).
Adhere to all company policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws governing sales practices.
Monitor sales metrics and prepare detailed reports for senior leadership, analyzing performance and identifying areas for improvement.
Qualifications
Technical, Instrumentation or Engineering degree (P. Eng not required), or other post-secondary in a related field. Specialized knowledge of Process Controls and/or Instrumentation is preferred.
2+ years of progressive sales experience.
Ability and willingness to travel, up to 33% of the time.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in Canadian markets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration.
Proficiency in written communication and relevant software (e.g. ERP, CRM, Microsoft Suite, Acrobat, presentation applications).
Fluency in English.
Class 5 Drivers License.
Ability to legally work in Canada.
Valid Passport or Visa for occasional travel to the US.
Working conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular working hours (50% of the time).
Up to 33% of the incumbent’s time could be spent working remotely, travelling to client sites and trade shows.
Majority of work done on computer and use of cellphone.
Must be able to carry marketing materials and product samples during travel.
May be required to drive for extended periods.
May be required to work on-site with clients in various conditions.
Physical Requirements
This position requires desk hours, travel (both via car and plane), asynchronous communication, time zone coordination, sometimes solitary work environment, irregular meals, and physical mobility.

$70,000 - $+0,000 (CAD) Base salary, plus commissionable earnings.
