About the Role
Impact: You will write, edit, and publish technical content that helps developers, IT professionals, support agents, and marketers learn about and efficiently use Esper products and dev tools.
Role summary: In this role, you will partner with our engineering and customer facing teams and own the documentation tech stack and development process. Our doc hub includes product documentation, changelog, and dev tool documentation such as our CLI, SDKs, and API reference. In addition to owning our documentation hub, you will also contribute to our help center by writing how-to guides and troubleshooting articles.

What You'll Be Doing
Work with engineering, product, and customer facing teams to write technical content and keep the content up-to-date
Own the documentation tech stack, the development processes, and docs’ information architecture
Design and build solutions to automate and actively optimize our docsEnsure documentation covers all aspects of the Esper platforms and products, CLIs, APIs and SDKs in simple, easy-to-read English
Prepare screenshots, animated GIFs and videos and support design and layout
Support major product releases by writing technical descriptions for newsletters, blogs, and announcements
Continuously learn about and advocate for Esper’s new product features, use cases and best practices
Review, challenge and copy edit the content created by non-writers and drive best practices in technical writing with others
What We're Looking For
Candidates must have 3+ years of combined experience across any of the following roles: technical writer, developer advocate, software engineer, and/or product management. Beyond industry experience, we are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in writing and utilizing great developer and product documentation
Excellent at written communication
Prior experience writing API documentation and code recipes
Experienced in and enjoys deep investigations of new technical concepts plus teaching others what you’ve learned
Eager to keep learning and growing and is open to giving and receiving feedback
Proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders and effectively collaborating with developers
Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail
Working knowledge of web user interface development (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
Nice-to-have: Domain expertise on Android, SaaS, Hardware or DevOps
Nice-to-have: Experience with docs-as-code
