Act as a front-facing point of contact from Tech SO Operations to internal client services / external clients (where applicable) to lead and drive the operational design and delivery of our
Client offerings. Team management - Leads a team of Team Leads.
Qualifications
The TechOps Senior Specialist plays a strong technical role in the Operations team, fostering efficiency, building and managing existing tools, to support the US Statistical Operations team. The ideal candidate should have a good grasp of skills and working proficiency in at least one programming language, is open-minded to learn, and possesses creative problem-solving skills. He/She will be part of the biggest market research organisation in the world working with the best brains in the industry.
Responsibilities
• Manage a team of tech specialists as well as contribute individually in building and managing existing tools & technology stack
• Build & Maintain technical tools on Python/VBA/RPA for Operation processes to improve quality, bring efficiency which become best practices. Independently write custom codes on technical projects using Python/R, SQL code, etc
• Apply advanced statistical and data mining techniques in order to derive patterns from the data. Generate actionable insights for business improvements. Analyze raw data - assessing quality, cleansing, structuring it for different analytical projects
• Well versed with computer science areas and application in real life projects
• Able to take hand-over of existing complex tools and applications from other technical associates and able to execute, maintain and troubleshoot
• Learn and become an expert in Nielsen Connect operations and processes knowledge, with a focus on automation, computations, and enhanced methodologies
• Contribute to create new solutions use cases, proof of concept and prototypes by exploring diverse data sets using open source tools
• Document the enhancements, new methodologies applied locally and impact on the data
• Engage with team on resolving technical challenges and ascertain newer enhancements in the tool are well understood by the team
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement and validate enhanced automation methodologies
• Work with Agility and speed to manage multiple projects and various stakeholders sitting across multiple locations
• Operate in a virtual/multi-cultural environment, liaising with stakeholders and colleagues
Qualifications
Additional Information
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Science, Operation Research, Mathematics, or Computer Science with outstanding analytical expertise. (Mandatory)
• Master’s degree in Statistics, Social Science, Operation Research, Mathematics, or Computer Science. (Good to have)
• Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience on below skill sets
• Must have experience on Python, Linux OS, PL/SQL
• Good to have experience on JAVA, C, HTML, SPARK,
• Good to have experience on Django/Flask, web services
• Must have experience with a relational database query language such as PostgreSQL
• Knowledge on SQL, PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
• Pro-actively gather information, as needed, to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Intellectual curiosity and persistence to find answers to questions
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to effectively influence, negotiate and communicate within and across various levels in the organization
