Pathology and Laboratory Medicine - Anatomical (Surgical) Pathology

Applications are invited for a Medical Laboratory Technologist position in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Anatomical (Surgical) Pathology Laboratory. Assignments may include, but are not limited to; Microtomy, Special Staining, Routine Processing, Decalcification, Frozen Sectioning, Biopsy Gross Dissectioning, Cytology screening and interpretation. Staff in the Anatomical (Surgical) Pathology Laboratory may be assigned to London Health Sciences Centre (University Hospital, Victoria Hospital) and St. Joseph's Health Care as required. This position requires the incumbent to be available to work shifts and on call.

Temporary Casual

Rate of Pay: $36.84 per hour - $50.24 per hour

Duration: May 16, 2025 to May 14, 2026

Qualifications
Current registration or eligible as a Medical Laboratory Technologist with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario with authorization to practice relevant specialties in Laboratory Medicine
Experience in Surgical Pathology (Preferred)
Dual trained Cytology - Histology (Preferred)
Graduate diploma in Diagnostic Cytology from an accredited institution (preferred)
Certification with the Canadian Society of Laboratory Science (C.S.M.L.S) or equivalent; certification in Diagnostic Cytotechnology (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to perform Microtomy
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated accuracy and organizational skills
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) as well as conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated computer literacy
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose, and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
