Join ClassUp, the premiere online learning platform that connects K-12 students with tutors from the top US and Canadian Universities and Colleges for personalized lessons. As a tutor for ClassUp, you will have a flexible and consistent schedule that you set. We teach math, ELA, and SAT classes and have ClassUp provided learning plans for our tutors to use. This is the perfect opportunity for experienced educators to connect with students in an after school setting.
You will e-meet with your students at a set time each week for 50 minute 1 on 1 lessons. As a ClassUp tutor you will build a welcoming and fun learning environment for your student as you help them grow. It is important for our teachers to be reliable role models for our students who come to class well prepared, on time, and with a passionate and kind demeanor.
Responsibilities:
Provide personalized 1 on 1 instruction for your students
Update your availability in the ClassUp App in a timely manner
Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student's age and ability
Submit Class Feedback after each lesson
Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner
Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting
Communicate with ClassUp staff
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
3 years of experience teaching grades K-12
Experience with K-12 ELA or math curriculum
Teaching license preferred but not required
Fast and reliable internet connection and access to a Windows or Mac PC (minimum 6000 CPU)
Able to commit to a year of teaching with ClassUp
Availability between 3-10 PM EST on Monday through Friday or during the weekends
Minimum of 20 hours of availability on a weekly basis
Access to a private and quiet location
Passion for helping students learn
Currently located in Canada
ClassUp Teachers are:

Patient:They take the time and effort to make sure students understand the complex subjects and materials at whichever speed is required by the student.
Adaptive: They are able to tailor the lesson and environment to each individual student, their needs and learning capabilities.
Considerate: They have the emotional intelligence to understand when a student is feeling discouraged and can then build up their confidence from there.
Enthusiastic: They are passionate about education and have a contagious energy that makes for a fun environment for the students.
Reliable: They come to class on time, prepared, and ready to tackle the students needs.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
