About therole:
• Provideclear strategic direction and leadership
• Ensure the curriculumis of an excellent quality through regular review and evaluation
• Monitorthe quality of teaching and learning, ensuring the higheststandards are in place for all year groups and classes
• Leadthe staff team to support the physical, emotional and socialdevelopment of every student
• Ensure an orderly, stimulating andmotivational culture with a strong sense of school community, thatembraces collaboration among the staff and specialists
• Ensurethe provision of first-class learning through the leadership of theschool appraisal system
• Create a culture and environment in whichstudents thrive and thus drive-up educational standards andimproving outcomes as well as the development of the whole child
• Embedstrong assessment practices which are moderated and reviewedregularly
• Drive innovation in learning within the curriculum,teaching, and learning
• Track and assess student performance, assistand lead in the preparation of reports and actionplans.
• Determine appropriate and useful ways of distributingresponsibility among the team
• Promote and encourage an integratedapproach, and ensure all teachers are working towards a sharedvision that embraces inquiry and integration
• Provide leadership tosupport team members and middle leaders in the care of theirstudents
• Ensure the Learning Assistants are active members ofthe community and are able to work effectively with theirrespective teachers and students
• Mentor, support anddevelop staff including performance management/appraisal ofteachers and Assistant Head
• To ensure that there is consistency,coordination, good communication and high standardsthroughout

PositionRequirements / Person Specifications:

Education:
• A Degreein Teaching and at least 5 years experience in a leadershipposition
• Strong knowledge and understanding of pedagogy,including play based learning, with experience of leadingcurriculum, teaching and learning
• Excellent technicalknowledge and skills with a capacity to inspire teachers
• Stronginterpersonal skills
• Capacity to develop meaningful educationalprograms for teaching staff, differentiated to meet a range ofabilities
• Strong organizational skills and knowledge
