Advance your water treatment career with Yashili NZ Dairy Company Ltd, a cutting-edge Infant Formula Powder and nutritional powder processing facility located in Pokeno. We are seeking a dedicated Utilities Process Operator to join our dynamic team of industry experts.
As an Operator, you will play a vital role in the operation and management of our state-of-the-art dairy plant. Reporting to the Utilities Lead, you will be responsible for:
Operating and maintaining the potable water and demineralisation plants.
Conducting water testing according to the Yashili Water Management Plan.
Ensuring compliance is met with the regulatory drinking water standards.
Operating a wastewater DAF system and ensuring compliance is within the Waikato District Council parameters.
Monitoring and operating a 20MW boiler, industrial air compressors, ammonia chillers and cooling towers.
Monitoring chemical dosing levels and their application in water and wastewater treatment.
Cleaning, verifying, and calibrating instrumentation.
Monitoring the plant via an HMI or Digital Control System with the understanding of process control.
Conducting autonomous maintenance, including servicing, and attending equipment breakdowns.
Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns with assistance from the Utilities Engineering Lead.
Taking ownership of safe work systems for the Utilities plant.
Assist with the training of Service Technicians in the operation of site-wide Utilities systems.
Effectively managing time and meeting set targets.
Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of Utilities areas.
Assisting in audit preparation and participating in audits.
Adhering to health and safety rules.
Performing any other non-utilities related tasks as required.
Key skills and experience required:
Relevant Tertiary qualification in Utilities or equivalent.
Experience in a production environment, preferably in site utilities or FMCG.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and fault find.
Knowledge of Taumata Arowai Drinking Water Guidelines, and the application of the Water Services (DWSNZ) Regulations 2022, and DCP – 3.
Must be willing to work 12 - hours shifts, 4 days on and 4 days off
