Video creation is critical to our company for our team members and customers. The Brick has been producing in-house video content for nearly 20 years Reporting to the Senior Manager, Learning and Development, the Videographer/Editor position is responsible for all internal video production activities for learning, communications, team engagement, as well as providing general creative support to the larger Human Resources team and Brick corporate, retail, distribution, and fleet employees.
• *Responsibilities**:

- Creation of video projects including: training videos, internal communications, highlight videos, special occasion videos, etc.
- Projects involve planning, shooting, editing, graphics production, and final delivery in both French and English. Will work closely with the company translator
- Work closely with others in the company to plan and schedule production needs
- Set up, shoot, and tear down productions including lights, camera, audio, and teleprompter both in and out of the studio as well as for recordings and livestreams
- Lighting, shooting, and processing of green-screen footage
- Patience while directing untrained talent for professional results
- Capture high-quality audio with wired and wireless equipment
- Knowledge of media formats for Internet delivery
- Be organized with assets and proficient with archiving
- Collaborate on and develop new video-based projects for both learning and communication purposes
- Projects involve planning, shooting, editing, graphics production, captions and final delivery in English and French (working closely with the company translator)

Qualifications:
• *Education and Experience Required**:

- Post-secondary education in a video/digital media program
- Prior work experience shooting and editing
• *Knowledge and Skills Required**:

- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator)
- Experience with writing and editing scripts
- Experience with video production equipment (Professional Camcorders and Digital Cine Cameras, lights, audio devices, etc.)
- Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
- Valid driver’s license with transportation - some of our filming is off-site in our various locations
- Ability to travel - some of our filming projects require travel locally and country-wide

Empathie Creative Studio provides branding, marketing strategy, ongoing social media management, and content creation for businesses of all sizes and industries. We seek a highly skilled Videographer to help in the creation of YouTube video content for our client. We require some hours to be on-site in the Edmonton area with our client once a week. Additional hours will be used for editing content for YouTube videos.
• *Position Summary**:
Under the direction and supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Contracted Videographer is responsible for being on-site once a week with our client to film behind-the-scenes content and vlog-style day-in-the-life videos. This includes providing your own equipment and holding a valid driver's license to meet the client on location in the Edmonton area.
• *Duties and Responsibilities**:
Tasks will include:

- Participate in video planning meetings with the team to storyboard content that will need to be captured.
- Meet the client on-site in Edmonton to shoot for up to 6 hours at a time with a mixture of interview style video, B-roll of Edmonton, and vlog style behind the scenes.
- Shoot high-quality video with dynamic shots.
- Edit together YouTube-style videos of 15-20 minutes in length.
- Provide the team with usable footage to be used for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts for promotion.
- Work with client feedback to adapt videos as they see fit as time goes on.
- Meet monthly deadlines of one produced video every two weeks.
• *Qualifications**:

- Excellent understanding and experience with creating video content for businesses.
- Experience with editing video specifically for YouTube.
- Strong people skills and the ability to provide strong direction to clients.
- Some graphic design skills and basic knowledge of Canva and the Adobe Suite Programs (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or equivalent editing programs) is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (specifically Word and Excel).
- Experience working with a team to collaborate and brainstorm ideas.
- Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
- Proven team player who is both flexible and adaptable.
- Strong attention to detail.
• *Requirements**:

- Completion of a video production training program or work experience/mentorship equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with professional video creation
- Experience working with YouTube content
- Must have your laptop, editing software, camera, and appropriate lenses - any other equipment you may need, such as lighting, microphones, etc., can be supplied.

Part-time hours: 10 hours per week

This position is a contract position that will require on-site shooting once per week with additional hours used for editing.
